Baku: Azerbaijan detained more than 2,700 illegal migrants during the first four months of this year. The State Migration Service made a total of 6,228 administrative decisions regarding violations of migration legislation within this period, as confirmed by the agency in response to an inquiry by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Migration Service conducted measures against illegal migration, resulting in the detention of 2,754 foreigners. These individuals were found to be residing in Azerbaijan without proper documentation, engaging in activities inconsistent with their declared purpose of entry, involved in illegal employment, or not residing at their registered addresses. Furthermore, the statement noted that 668 foreigners were administratively expelled from the country, with their entry restricted for a legally established period.
