20 foreigners – illegal migrants who were in Azerbaijan over the validity of their visas were detained, the State Migration Service told APA.
It was determined that 18 persons were promised to organize entry to the EU countries through the territory of Azerbaijan in exchange for 5-8 thousand dollars.
The organizers, through a travel company located in another country, promised 18 foreigners to prepare documents upon arrival in the Republic of Azerbaijan, took their passports, embezzled their money, and created conditions for foreigners to become illegal migrants, preventing them from leaving the country during the visa period. As a result of the measures taken, 2 foreigners who committed these unlawful acts were identified and detained, and materials on the identified circumstances were sent to the relevant law enforcement agencies for a legal assessment.
