2 people have been arrested in connection with the explosion-fire that happened in Binagadi, Baku, Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan said, APA reports.
A criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway in accordance with the relevant articles of the Criminal Code at the Department of Criminalistics and Information Technologies of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the explosion-fire that happened in a furniture workshop in the Binagadi district of Baku that resulted in the death of 10 people and injured 23 people with various degree.
As a result of initial investigation measures, the illegal actions of 2 persons were exposed.
The investigation revealed that the explosion happened as a result of exceeding the minimum concentration limit due to the the wood dust generated during the processing of wood materials and the vapor mixture of chemical materials not being cleaned.
In the case, the shareholder and actual owner of ‘Baki Agac
Emali’ (Baku Wood Processing) Open Joint Stock Company Taghi Ibrahimov was charged under Article 314.3 of the Criminal Code, and Togrul Rzayev, who actually manages the OJSC, was charged under Article 225.3 of the same Code. Arrest measures were taken against both accused persons based on the request of the investigative body and the presentation of the prosecutor who conducted the preliminary investigation.
Note that the arrested Taghi Ibrahimov is the brother of Nazim Ibrahimov, former president of ATV channel and former Chairman of State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
