Azerbaijan and Trkiye Finalize Digital Document Integration

Baku: Azerbaijan and Trkiye have successfully completed the technical integration of digital document circulation, marking a significant milestone in their bilateral digital cooperation. The mutual recognition of electronic signatures between the two nations was confirmed by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov at the ‘Azerbaijan-Trkiye Business Forum: Digital Transformation and Technology Bridge,’ as reported by APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, all technical processes and testing phases necessary for the mutual recognition of electronic signatures have been finalized. S. Mammadov stated that efforts are now focused on establishing the necessary regulatory and legal frameworks to bring this integration into full legal effect. He expressed optimism that this stage would be completed soon.

Azerbaijan is prioritizing digital transformation as a key aspect of its state policy, implementing extensive reforms to achieve this goal. Under the ‘Online Azerbaijan’ pr
oject, broadband internet access has been extended to all villages nationwide. S. Mammadov highlighted that the digital economy development concept, approved last year, aims to unify digital approaches for citizens, businesses, and the state.

The concept’s primary objectives include digitalizing public services, reducing administrative burdens for businesses, and enhancing service accessibility. Additionally, Azerbaijan has successfully transitioned to a paperless government, which helps preserve approximately 5,700 trees annually.
