Podgorica: The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Montenegro held another round of political consultations in the Montenegrin capital. The consultations were led by Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, and Peria Kastratovic, State Secretary of the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions reviewed the current state of cooperation within the political consultations mechanism, emphasizing the importance of reciprocal visits in advancing the existing political dialogue. The officials explored the current state and prospects of cooperation in various fields, including economic, energy, tourism, and humanitarian sectors, as well as strategic energy and transport projects implemented by Azerbaijan. They also reviewed the further development of the legal framework.
The parties discussed cooperation on international platforms, focusing on the development of collaboration within various international organizations and mutual support for each other’s candidacies. A comprehensive exchange of views on the regional situation, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, large-scale reconstruction, restoration, and demining activities in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, was also a part of the consultations.
As part of the visit, Fariz Rzayev met with several Montenegrin officials and participated in roundtable discussions at the University of Montenegro.
