The Anti-Drug Trafficking Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic received drones to combat the spread of drugs, the press service of the ministry reported. Head of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ulanbek Sultanov, took part in a regional meeting of experts on unmanned aerial vehicles and innovative technologies in Karakol city of Kyrgyzstan. On the first day, an exhibition of innovative equipment technology and a ceremony of transferring technical equipment for the Anti-Drug Trafficking Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic took place. Head of the Service, Ulanbek Sultanov, delivered a welcoming speech, noting that the use of UAVs in combating drug trafficking allows to quickly respond and track the growth of wild hemp in mountainous areas and make appropriate decisions. Further, the delegations got acquainted in the field with the practical application of UAVs and innovative technologies. Within the framework of the meeting, a bilateral meeting was also held with the Uzbek delegation headed by the director of the National Information and Analytical Center for Drug Control under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olim Narzullaev to discuss cooperation in the field of preventing the spread of new psychoactive substances, as well as drugs containing potent substances. The event was also attended by the UNODC Regional Representative for Central Asia Ms. A. Mitall, the head of the UNODC Program Office in the Kyrgyz Republic A. Seleznev, delegations from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus, representatives of CARICC, national government bodies.
