Baku: ‘Our relations with the Armenian Church were different before our victory,’ Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade told journalists, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Pashazade reflected on the dynamics between the religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia prior to the 2020 conflict resolution. He noted that meetings with Armenian church leaders were marked by a sense of superiority from their side, which he found painful for himself and the Azerbaijani people.
Pashazade expressed pride in his current status as the religious leader of a victorious nation, highlighting the recent restoration of the Qazilik of Iravan as a symbol of their renewed strength. He emphasized plans to return to previously held Azerbaijani lands, with intentions to restore religious sites such as sanctuaries, shrines, and mosques, ensuring that religious leaders will be present to serve in these regions.
