‘A total of 305 Azerbaijanis have become victims of landmines since the end of the Second Karabakh War. Of those, 57 were killed, while others received injuries of varying degrees of severity,’ Chairman of Board of Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov told journalists. He noted that about 30 thousand anti-personnel, 17 thousand anti-tank mines as well as over 40 thousand unexploded ordnances (UXO) had been found and neutralized so far. ‘Over 95 thousand hectares of the territory in the districts liberated from the occupation have been cleared from mines since November 2020,’ Suleymanov added.
