World Bank Foresees End of Accounting and Jurisprudence Professions

Baku: Professions such as accounting and jurisprudence are predicted to vanish in the near future, according to Rene Leon Solano, lead economist at the World Bank’s Ankara office. Speaking at the ‘Future Professions Summit’, organized by the State Employment Agency in Baku, Solano shared his insights during a panel titled ‘What does the future of professions require from us?’ as reported by Trend.

According to Trend News Agency, Solano highlighted the minimal current impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on small and medium-sized businesses. He noted that only 14 percent of such enterprises globally are utilizing AI technology. Solano stated that AI’s influence on these businesses is likely to remain limited due to the low adoption rate, especially among educators. He mentioned that AI is expected to automate many tasks, potentially reducing production costs and influencing pricing structures.

Solano further explained that while AI could play a supportive role in sectors like education, assisting but not replacing teachers, the evolution of AI may lead to the obsolescence of certain professions. He emphasized that accounting and jurisprudence are among the professions expected to lose relevance as AI technology continues to advance.
