Baku: The volume of green loans in Azerbaijan has surpassed 330 million manat, as reported by APA-Economics. From November 11, 2024, to June 30, 2025, a total of 12,762 green financial loans were issued, amounting to 330.24 million manat.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the most significant portion of these loans, totaling 134.01 million manat, was allocated to the green transport sector, with financial support provided for 287 loans. The sustainable agriculture, livestock, and aquaculture sector followed, receiving 91.05 million manat across 12,285 loans.
The energy efficiency sector received 37.51 million manat for 89 loans. Additionally, 18.64 million manat was allocated for 5 renewable energy loans. Other sectors benefiting from green loans included sustainable water resources management (14.60 million manat), circular economy and waste management (14.70 million manat), and biodiversity protection (1.25 million manat).
The report highlights that the total loan portfolio comprises only 0.09 million manat of non-green, sustainability-related loans, while 18.18 million manat was allocated to green bonds and other initiatives within Azerbaijan.
