Azerbaijan SBS Detains Three Individuals Attempting to Violate the State Border


Baku: On July 27, individuals who attempted to illegally cross the Azerbaijani border were apprehended, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA. The report stated that thanks to the vigilance of the border patrol in the area of responsibility of the ‘Sheki’ Border Detachment of the State Border Troops, three citizens of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria (Mesimi Rami Suleyman, born in 1997; Moussaoui Tadjedin Hasan, born in 2004; and Kateb Djoudi Abdulkhani, born in 2003) were detained while attempting to cross from the Republic of Azerbaijan into the Russian Federation. Additionally, one citizen of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (Udula Imanthalanka) was detained while attempting to cross into Georgia in the area of responsibility of the ‘Gazakh’ separate border division.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, operational-investigative measures are ongoing regarding the incidents.
