Baku: A prominent Turkish diplomat has called for intensified cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) across the Turkic world at the OTS Media Forum in Baku. Alptekin Cihangir Isbilir, the Press Counselor of the Embassy of Trkiye in Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of unity in AI development during the forum’s first panel session.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Isbilir highlighted the advancements made by foreign powers in mastering AI and stressed the necessity for Turkic nations to prioritize and collaborate in this field. He pointed out that coordinated efforts among the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries could serve as a significant strategic advantage.
Isbilir referenced existing collaborative frameworks, such as the Azerbaijan-Trkiye Joint Media Platform, established in the aftermath of the 44-day war five years ago. This platform exemplifies the potential for effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, and Isbilir suggested expanding this model to include other OTS member countries like Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. He acknowledged the challenges in achieving an ideal operational state but reiterated the importance of involving more nations to strengthen AI capabilities across the Turkic world.
