Turkish and Kazakh Leaders Focus on Energy and Investment Cooperation


Ankara: Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, convened in Ankara to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the domains of energy and investment.



According to Nam News Network, Erdogan emphasized at a joint press conference that the discussions focused on increasing the volume of Kazakh oil transported to global markets via Türkiye. He noted that both countries are aiming to enhance their collaboration in crucial sectors such as defense, energy, trade, and counterterrorism, with a special emphasis on energy as a central pillar of their partnership.



Tokayev highlighted that Kazakhstan’s trade with Türkiye has exceeded two billion dollars. He expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to offer special incentives to Turkish companies for projects aimed at renewing Kazakhstan’s railway system and revitalizing maritime trade in the Caspian Sea.
