Baku: Azerbaijan discussed possible steps on visa regime liberalization with Uruguay, Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA. On April 29, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Deputy Foreign Minister of Uruguay Valeria Csukasi.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of deepening political dialogue, intensifying mutual visits, and strengthening institutional cooperation.
The agreement on cooperation between diplomatic academies was welcomed, and opportunities for personnel training, exchange of experience, and implementation of joint training programs were reviewed. In addition, possible steps toward liberalizing the visa regime to facilitate mutual travel of citizens were discussed.
The parties emphasized the importance of the visit of the delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan to Uruguay last year in contributing positively to the development of trade and economic relations, noting the importance of continuing such contacts.
An exchange of views was also held on cooperation within international organizations.
On the same day, the next round of political consultations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay was held, co-chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and Uruguay’s Deputy Foreign Minister Valeria Csukasi.
