Baku: The State Tourism Agency has failed to return 12.8 million manats to the budget, APA-Economics reports. An audit conducted by the Chamber of Accounts revealed that state funds were managed in violation of the law at the State Tourism Agency.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the audit discovered that between 2022 and 2024, the Agency retained a total of 12.8 million manats allocated for various works and services in its letter of credit accounts, but these funds were not returned to the budget as mandated by law.
It was particularly noted that only 43,500 manats of the retained funds were returned, while the remaining amount was spent on services performed over various years.
The Chamber of Accounts emphasized that this practice violates the Law on the Budget System, contradicts transparency, and disrupts budget discipline.
