Baku: Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali has underscored the extensive collaboration between Somalia and Azerbaijan, particularly in the defense sector. The comments were made during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Somali minister highlighted that the cooperation was initiated with a memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year during a visit by the President of Somalia to Azerbaijan. The agreement covers several significant areas, including defense and security.
Ali also mentioned that the Azerbaijani government is facilitating the arrival of Somali students in Azerbaijan. These students are expected to receive education that will aid Somalia in the exploration of its natural resources. Earlier this year, a Somali delegation visited Azerbaijan to further expand the defense and security cooperation between the two nations.
