Lankaran: An individual attempting to illegally cross the state border has been detained, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA. On July 22, thanks to the vigilance of a border patrol unit in the service area of the ‘Lankaran’ border detachment of the State Border Service’s Border Troops, an Iraqi citizen, Safwan Mohammad Asad, was detained while attempting to illegally cross from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, operational-investigative measures are ongoing regarding the incident. The State Border Service continues to closely monitor and respond to any unauthorized border crossing attempts to maintain the security and integrity of the nation’s borders.
