SOFAZ and Indonesia Discuss Investment Cooperation Opportunities

Baku:Israfil Mammadov, Chief Executive Officer of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ), recently met with a delegation led by Todotua Pasaribu, Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Berlian Helmy, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, representatives of Danantara, Indonesia’s state investment holding company, and other Indonesian investment institutions. The discussions focused on the development of economic and investment relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, the expansion of institutional cooperation, and investment opportunities of mutual interest.

The parties exchanged views on SOFAZ’s investment activities across Asian markets and its partnerships with leading investment institutions in the region. They explored the potential benefits these relationships could bring for future cooperation, particularly through the China-ASEAN Investment Platform. This platform, established in April 2026 by SOFAZ, China Investment Corporation, and Indonesia Investment Authority, exemplifies existing institutional cooperation and offers further opportunities for private equity investment in Southeast Asia’s high-growth markets.

Discussions also covered prospects for cooperation in infrastructure, technology, and the digital economy. Emphasis was placed on maintaining institutional dialogue and further developing engagement on investment themes of mutual interest.
