SOCAR Unveils Q1 2026 Drilling and Production Statistics


Baku: In the first quarter of 2026, SOCAR conducted approximately 13 thousand meters of drilling operations. During this period, 1.67 million tons of oil and 1.85 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from fields operated independently or where SOCAR is the main shareholder. Nationwide gas production saw a slight increase of 0.4%, reaching 12.64 billion cubic meters. In total, Azerbaijan produced 6.63 million tons of crude oil in the first quarter of 2026.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, SOCAR exported 3.52 million tons of oil to international markets. This figure includes both the oil volumes produced by SOCAR itself and the profit oil shares of the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR from oil produced by international consortia operating within the country.



During the same period, nationwide natural gas consumption amounted to 4.76 billion cubic meters. Notably, gas exports saw a rise of 6.9%, totaling 6.5 billion cubic meters. SOCAR’s operations in the first quarter also included the processing of 1.45 million tons of oil and 636 million cubic meters of gas. Oil processing experienced a 3.7% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Additionally, more than 394 thousand tons of oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR’s facilities in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets.
