Sarajevo: The Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo played host to a Christmas-New Year concert, co-organized by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts Sarajevo, and the Amadeus Foundation. The event was organized in a festive setting, attracting attendees from various age groups and demonstrating the unifying power of culture.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljevic emphasized the concert’s special and symbolic significance. The occasion included performances of works by Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the founder of professional Azerbaijani music, in honor of his 140th anniversary.
Maestro Emir Nuhanovic, a member of the Board of the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts Sarajevo, noted that the program featured a wide range of musical styles from both Eastern and Western traditions. He mentioned that by performing Hajibeyli’s works alongside compositions by European classical composers such as Mendelssohn, Monti, Schubert, and Strauss, the event demonstrated the universality of the Azerbaijani composer’s music and its ability to connect different cultures.
