President Sadyr Japarov made a surprise inspection of the transport and road infrastructure development department of the Bishkek mayor’s office on April 1, presidential spokesperson Erbol Sultanbaev reported. For many years the city’s unusable buses have been parked in that territory, Sultanbaev said. Based on the instructions of the president, soon additional batch of a thousand new buses will be delivered for the city’s needs. All minibuses will be out of the city in order to gradually address the transport issue, Sultanbaev said. Japarov instructed the capital’s authorities to quickly scrap all the old, unusable buses and enlarge the territory for new buses. The construction of a service station should be speeded up, which will be built by the Chinese bus manufacturer according to the deal. This service station will allow repairing and maintaining all new buses in one spot.
