President Ilham Aliyev and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Discuss Strategic Relations in Baku

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held an expanded meeting with Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, on May 4, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting marked a significant moment in Azerbaijan-Italy relations, underscoring the strategic partnership between the two nations. President Aliyev welcomed Prime Minister Meloni and her delegation, acknowledging the symbolic significance of her visit following her trip to Armenia. He emphasized the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, expressing optimism about the development of strategic ties.

Prime Minister Meloni expressed her honor and satisfaction in visiting Azerbaijan, acknowledging the importance of the partnership between the two countries. She noted that it had been a decade since an Italian Prime Minister last visited Azerbaijan, highlighting the necessity of the visit given the extensive cooperation between the two nations in areas such as energy, infrastructure, connectivity, and culture.
