Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), during which a significant Memorandum of Understanding was signed. This agreement involves the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, and the EBRD, focusing on the reconstruction of the water supply, sanitation, and stormwater management network, along with the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Ganja.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of this Memorandum, viewing it as a critical development in the ongoing collaboration between Azerbaijan and the EBRD. He noted that the signing represents another pivotal step in furthering bilateral cooperation. The President expressed his appreciation to Odile Renaud-Basso for her role in COP29, acknowledging the event’s significant outcomes.
Odile Renaud-Basso expressed gratitude for the warm reception and
the excellent organization of COP29, which she considered a highly important event. She recognized the Memorandum as a landmark in the partnership between Azerbaijan and the EBRD. The meeting also included discussions on prospective projects and the potential for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EBRD.
