Papuashvili: EU’s Attitude Toward Georgia Is Unclear

The south caucasus: The South Caucasus is an important link between Europe and Asia, and for this reason, the European Union’s attitude toward Georgia is unclear, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said, APA’s local bureau reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Papuashvili commented on the globally chaotic nature of Brussels’ policy, noting that this perception is not exclusive to Georgia. He also expressed concerns about the EU’s diminishing role in global politics.

The speaker emphasized that the EU no longer engages with global issues actively and remains silent on regional problems. Papuashvili underscored the importance of dialogue with Georgia, highlighting that the country and the entire region serve as a critical connection linking the EU with various resources and routes.

It is noteworthy that President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen remarked at the Armenia-EU summit in Yerevan that Armenia stands as the shortest route toward Central Asia and the Caspian Sea, a route previously unavailable due to war and geopolitical issues.
