Leipzig: Oleksii Kuleba, Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support and collaboration during the International Transport Forum (ITF) Summit in Leipzig, Germany. Kuleba highlighted the signing of a memorandum with Azerbaijan as a significant milestone for both nations, emphasizing its importance on the sidelines of the ITF Summit.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Kuleba acknowledged the renewed cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, fueled by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent visit to Azerbaijan. He praised Azerbaijan’s principled stance in supporting Ukraine amidst the full-scale invasion, marking it as significant for Ukraine. The memorandum signed with the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan focuses on implementing an electronic permit system for vehicle passage between the two countries.
Kuleba described the initiative as a crucial step towards accelerating procedures and ensuring transparency. He stated that both countries agreed to focus on digitalizing transport and logistics routes, optimizing resources, and enhancing transparency in operations. The Ukrainian minister emphasized that these efforts are not just additional services for citizens, passengers, or carriers but are integral to resource optimization and transparency.
