Baku: The next meeting of the “Internet Connectivity and Internet Infrastructure” Working Group, spearheaded by the Digital Development and Transport Ministry (DDTM) under the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, recently convened, as reported by APA-Economics. The meeting saw participation from the Working Group’s leadership, its members, and representatives from the private sector.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, discussions at the event centered around developments in the internet infrastructure sector and the ‘Utility Services (internet)’ indicator featured in the World Bank Group’s ‘Business Ready’ report. Participants reviewed the progress made in the first quarter of the year as per the 2025 ‘Roadmap’ and outlined future tasks.
Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Samaddin Asadov, who leads the Working Group, emphasized that the Ministry, along with related agencies, is actively implementing measures to enhance the business environment and elevate Azerbaijan’s standing in international rankings. He highlighted that in January, the Ministry responded to a World Bank questionnaire by providing report-type information. These indicators are expected to facilitate a favorable reassessment of Azerbaijan in the upcoming ‘Business Ready’ report, set for publication in October 2025.
