Meeting of Azerbaijan-Ukraine Intergovernmental Commission Focuses on Strengthening Economic Cooperation


Baku: The 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine was held in Baku, as reported by APA-Economics. Prior to the main session, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, and Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, German Galushchenko, convened to highlight the deep-rooted bilateral relations characterized by mutual trust and effective partnership. Expressing gratitude for Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, both parties engaged in a comprehensive dialogue aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the hybrid-format meeting delved into the current state and potential opportunities for collaboration between the two nations in areas such as politics, economy, trade and industry, energy, transport, information and communication technologies, science and education, and culture. Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov emphasized that the adoption of an Action Plan within the framework of the Commission is expected to elevate bilateral cooperation, facilitating the extensive utilization of existing opportunities in energy, mineral resources, agriculture, industrial parks, and free economic zones.



Minister German Galushchenko of Ukraine underscored the strong historical ties and mutual respect binding the two countries, alongside their shared vision for sustainable development. He acknowledged Azerbaijan’s early support to Ukraine with energy equipment, which has been crucial in the energy sector. Galushchenko expressed optimism that the meeting would pave the way for new joint initiatives, further solidifying the long-term partnership between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.



Concluding the discussions, a Protocol was signed, encapsulating the outcomes of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting. It was agreed that the 14th meeting of the Commission will take place in Kyiv, furthering the dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
