Baku: ‘Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur are meeting their energy needs with green energy,’ Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov told APA TV, APA-Economics reports. He stated that the solar energy potential in this region is 7,200 megawatts, and the wind energy potential is 2,000 megawatts. So far, 550 residential, social, and public buildings have been equipped with solar panels. Azerenergy has commissioned 32 small hydropower plants in the liberated territories. We can now say with certainty that the Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh economic regions are powered by green energy. The surplus energy is being transferred to the national energy system,’ the deputy minister added.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the integration of green energy solutions in Karabakh and East Zangezur marks a significant milestone in sustainable development for the region.
