Beijing: The Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in China organized a charity campaign for children with special needs undergoing treatment at the Beijing Children’s Welfare Institute, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the project included the donation of specialized educational equipment based on artificial intelligence (AI) to support the education of children with physical and mental disabilities. During the event, it was highlighted that the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation are guided by the principles of humanism promoted by the National Leader. The charitable initiatives, spearheaded by the Foundation’s President, Mehriban Aliyeva, extend beyond Azerbaijan to various countries worldwide.
Speaking at the event, which coincided with the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to China, Bunyad Huseynov, underscored the historic contributions of the esteemed statesman to the Azerbaijani people. He recounted that in 1991, after regaining state independence, Azerbaijan faced the threat of losing it again, and it was Heydar Aliyev who was seen as the leader capable of steering the country through these challenging times. Aliyev’s return to power, in accordance with the people’s will, saved the Republic of Azerbaijan from potential collapse.
The diplomat further noted that Heydar Aliyev’s wisdom and political acumen sparked a fundamental transformation across various sectors in Azerbaijan. Initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s international standing and economic development were set in motion, including global projects such as the restoration of the ancient Silk Road and the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) oil and gas pipelines, which have solidified Azerbaijan’s independence.
Ambassador Huseynov emphasized that one of Heydar Aliyev’s most significant achievements was raising a political successor capable of continuing his legacy. He noted that President Ilham Aliyev, as a worthy successor, has fully restored Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, significantly enhancing the country’s international prestige.
He also highlighted that both National Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev have prioritized the development of Azerbaijan-China relations, elevating bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
