Harnessing power of green energy opens prospects

BAKU: Climate change is currently one of the biggest problems in the world. Agriculture, water resources, energy, forests, tourism, and coastal areas of Azerbaijan are exposed to climate change.

However, the utilization of ‘green’ energy has a positive impact on mitigating the effects of climate change.

‘Green’ energy derives from renewable energy sources. These sources renew themselves naturally and, unlike fossil fuels, minimize emissions of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases.

With the use of green energy, the level of unnatural carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is reduced, which can slow the rate of climate change. Simultaneously, these types of energy are protecting natural resources and supporting the sustainability of ecosystems.

Furthermore, the development of green energy technologies, by increasing diversity in energy production, improves energy security, creates new business opportunities in the economy, and stimulates the introduction of new approaches and technologies.

The development of the
green energy industry results in the creation of new jobs, which is one of the important factors of sustainable development.

Thus, the utilization of green energy is seen as an important step in the struggle against climate change.
