Global South Youth Platform Launched During International Forum in Baku

Baku: An important initiative was proposed during the International Forum on ‘Empowering Youth for a Post-Colonial Future.’ Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), announced the establishment of the Global South Youth Platform, a new international structure aimed at enhancing youth engagement in decolonization efforts.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the forum will officially announce the establishment of the Global South Youth Platform, with the participation of representatives from New Caledonia, R©union, Guadeloupe, France, Chad, Gabon, Guinea, the International Maritime Federation, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, C´te d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Algeria, and Morocco.

Abbas Abbasov emphasized that the initiative aims to empower young people, encourage their active role in international relations, and strengthen their participation in global processes. He expressed confidence that the Global South Youth Platform will expand cooperation among youth, support the development of their potential, and increase their international engagement.

The Executive Director also praised the high-level organization of the forum and thanked all participants and delegates. He noted that the platform will make a significant contribution to ensuring a stronger youth presence in global affairs and contribute to the development of long-term international cooperation.
