Baku:Galatasaray secured their first UEFA Champions League victory of the season with a 4-2 win over Lille. Meanwhile, Como stunned Manchester United with a 4-1 victory, featuring two goals from Nico Paz.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, both Galatasaray and Lille entered the Matchday 3 encounter without a point after losing their opening two fixtures. The match started with Galatasaray taking the lead in the second minute through Yunus Akgun, following a cross from Baris Alper Yilmaz, which Lille’s Alexsandro failed to clear.
Lille quickly responded when Alexsandro assisted Soriba Diaoune to equalize, and later took the lead with Diaoune’s second goal after a setup by Hakon Haraldsson. Galatasaray equalized just before halftime with a header from Aleksei Batrakov, setting the score at 2-2 at the break.
In the second half, Lucas Torreira’s header from a corner restored Galatasaray’s lead, and Victor Osimhen further extended it with a goal against his former club, concluding the match at 4-2. This victory left Lille still searching for their first win.
In another UEFA Champions League match, Nico Paz’s outstanding performance led Como to a 4-1 victory over Manchester United, exacerbating the English club’s winless streak to seven matches and increasing pressure on manager Michael Carrick.
