BISHKEK: The inaugural “Chinghiz Aitmatov” Order was bestowed upon the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on November 5, as announced by Eldar Aitmatov, the son of the celebrated writer and President of the Chingiz Aitmatov International Foundation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Eldar Aitmatov highlighted President Ilham Aliyev’s commitment to cultural development, which led to the decision to present him with the first Order. This recognition underscores the Azerbaijani President’s efforts and contributions to cultural initiatives.
Eldar Aitmatov also recalled that President Ilham Aliyev had previously honored Chingiz Aitmatov with the “Dostlug” Order in 2008, further cementing the cultural bonds and mutual respect between Azerbaijan and the legacy of Chingiz Aitmatov.
