Baku:Natural gas spot prices in Europe experienced a significant rise of more than 130% last month, particularly in September, according to data.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the average spot price of natural gas in Europe, as per the TTF index, stood at $25.49 per million BTU. This reflects an increase of 21% month-on-month and 131% year-on-year in September.
Furthermore, at the NBP gas trading hub in the United Kingdom, the average spot price of gas was recorded at $25.15 per million BTU, marking an increase of 22% month-on-month and 135% year-on-year.
The transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) commenced on December 31, 2020, adding to the dynamics of the European gas market.
