Baku: Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov emphasized the potential of the TRUMP route to enhance business flexibility in the energy sector during his address at the I Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the TRUMP route is designed to complement existing regional energy infrastructure and projects, such as the Southern Gas Corridor and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, by providing additional transportation routes.
Zeynalov highlighted that the TRUMP route is not limited to traditional energy resources but is also capable of transporting electricity, green energy, and hydrogen. This diversification could fundamentally transform energy connectivity across the region.
The Deputy Minister also pointed out the geographic advantages offered by the TRUMP route, which facilitates energy delivery to Europe via Trkiye and Armenia, as well as to the Middle East. He cited Azerbaijan’s recent gas exports to Syria, which are utilized for electricity production, as an example of the growing demand in the region. The TRUMP route, he added, will further enable the transfer of energy to Syria and other Middle Eastern countries.
