COP29 Gains Significant Importance, Says Uzbekistan’s Senate Chairwoman.

BAKU: “COP29 has gained significant importance,” declared Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during her address at the Parliamentary Meeting. This meeting was organized jointly by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan within the framework of COP29.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Narbaeva emphasized the critical need for reducing methane emissions and utilizing clean hydrocarbons. She urged parliaments to adhere to their commitments, highlighting the importance of addressing migration and food security issues. Narbaeva stressed that financing remains paramount in tackling climate change and called for enhanced resilience in the region. She underscored the growing role of parliaments at a time when global environmental challenges are intensifying.
