CECECO Highlights Azerbaijan’s Role at European Hydrogen Week 2026

Brussels:The Economic Cooperation Organization Clean Energy Centre (CECECO), along with SOCAR Green and Hydrogen Europe, hosted a side event titled ‘Connecting Europe with Emerging Clean Energy Markets Accelerating Green Hydrogen Development’ during the European Hydrogen Week 2026 in Brussels.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, speakers at the event emphasized the significance of such gatherings in facilitating dialogue, sharing expertise, and exploring new opportunities for cooperation. They highlighted Azerbaijan’s role as a dependable energy partner for the European Union and discussed the strategic importance of Azerbaijan-EU energy cooperation, as well as future prospects for strengthening partnerships in renewable energy.

The discussions brought together perspectives from both public and private sectors, industry stakeholders, and international and regional organizations. The focus was on advancing clean energy markets and the potential of green energy corridors connecting the ECO region with Europe. Opportunities for green hydrogen exports and their contribution to sustainable economic growth and cross-border energy cooperation were particularly emphasized.

The event served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss the necessary conditions for clean energy development, including supportive policy frameworks, investment, infrastructure, and international cooperation. It underscored the importance of collaborative approaches to unlocking the potential of interconnected, sustainable energy markets.

Additionally, CECECO presented the ‘Hydrogen Knowledge Guide Key Terms and Definitions,’ aimed at promoting a shared understanding of key concepts in the hydrogen value chain. This guide, which covers 12 thematic chapters, supports knowledge-building and capacity development in the region and aligns with the objectives of the COP29 Hydrogen Declaration.
