Baku: The restoration of the right to return, as well as the return of the people to their native lands must be implemented voluntarily and safely. In this vein, security, settlement opportunities, and public services are crucial. Support of the international community to the Azerbaijani government in this process is also extremely important, said Carlo Marino, Vice-President of the Italy-Azerbaijan Association, as he addressed the 3rd international conference organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community on the theme ‘Cultural Heritage and the Right to Return: Restoring the Cultural Heritage of Azerbaijanis Displaced from Armenia – as a Path to Justice, Reconciliation and Peace.’
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Carlo Marino also highlighted Italy’s return programs aimed at supporting the victims of war and refugees following World War II. He emphasized that the displaced persons must not only return safely to their lands, but also be fully integrated into the cultural and social life. Marino underscored the importance of the international community’s support in accelerating and ensuring the sustainability of this process.
