As part of his working trip, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov conducted an inspection of several key facilities in Issyk-Kul region, according to the Cabinet of Ministers’ press service. Japarov embarked on a helicopter tour to visit the construction site of the Sary-Jaz hydropower plant cascade. The cascade of 6 hydropower plants on the Sary-Jaz River with a total capacity of 1,100MW will be built jointly with China. This project aims to mitigate power shortages and enhance the reliability and quality of electricity supply to consumers. Additionally, Japarov conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing road construction projects, namely the Tyup-Kegen and Karkyra-Turok-Sary-Jaz roads. These road infrastructure developments are part of the World Bank’s Third Phase of the Central Asia Regional Connectivity Program. The total length of the roads is 52 kilometers.
