Bilasuvar: Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant is set to fulfill 4-5% of Azerbaijan’s electricity demand, as stated by Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy. This announcement was made during the first panel installation ceremony of the Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant, as reported by an APA-Economics correspondent present at the event.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the solar power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in the first half of 2026, with full-capacity electricity transmission to the grid expected by the end of next year. Javid Abdullayev emphasized the plant’s role in meeting a significant portion of the country’s electricity needs.
The electricity generated from the Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant will aid in conserving Azerbaijan’s gas resources. The saved gas is anticipated to be redirected for export, contributing positively to the country’s energy resource management and export capabilities.
