Belarus Donates Utility Equipment to Aghdam Industrial Park

Aghdam: Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin visited the Fuzuli and Aghdam districts, where they reviewed agricultural machinery showcased at the Aghdam Industrial Park. The machinery on display was a donation from the Belarusian government.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Aghdam Industrial Park was established by a Presidential Order dated May 28, 2021. Its priority areas include the production of construction materials, packaging of agricultural products, preservation of fruits and vegetables, production of meat and dairy products, animal feed, fertilizers, and the creation of service facilities and cold storage rooms.

The park spans 190 hectares, with more than 70% already allocated to entrepreneurs. Despite its recent establishment, Aghdam Industrial Park ranks second after the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park in terms of registered businesses. Nine enterprises are operational, having sold products worth 50 million USD to date, with nearly 37 million USD worth of products manufactured in the first quarter of this year alone.

Currently, over 10 new facilities, including several factories, are under construction. A favorable business environment has been created, allowing entrepreneurs to implement their projects using state-funded infrastructure without additional technical requirements. Residents benefit from tax exemptions for 10 years, no VAT or customs duties on imported machinery, and various other incentives, including utility discounts and concessional loans.
