Baku State University Hosts Model WUF13 Simulation Conference on Youth Involvement


Baku: The Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) simulation conference, focusing on the role of youth in creating inclusive, safe, and sustainable cities. The event was part of the ‘Foundation of strong state – Azerbaijani youth’ Forum, commemorating February 2 as the Day of Azerbaijani Youth.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the inaugural simulation conference was organized by BSU in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Eurasian Regional Center of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC). Shahin Panahov, Vice-rector for International Relations at BSU, highlighted during the event that modern urban planning should integrate science, technology, and the human factor. He stressed the importance of young people’s active participation in driving sustainable development.



The conference also featured speeches from Mirhuseyn Taghiyev, a representative of BSU’s Protocol sector, Abdinassir Sagar, WUF13 Coordinator from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), and Ramin Habibzada, ICYF-ERC Deputy Director-General. Participants at the conference shared perspectives from the nations they represented.



At the conclusion of the event, participants who excelled were awarded certificates.
