Geneva: Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), announced that the organization will maintain its resolute and active support for the Sikh resistance and peoples living under colonial oppression. He made this declaration during the international conference themed ‘Countering Indian Transnational Repression: Sikh Resistance and United Nations’, held in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Abbasov emphasized the commitment of BIG to stand by those facing repression and colonial challenges. The conference provided a platform for discussing the ongoing issues faced by the Sikh community and other oppressed groups around the world. Abbasov’s statement reinforces the group’s dedication to advocating for human rights and freedom from colonial rule.
