Baku:Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, emphasized Azerbaijan’s significant contribution to Europe’s energy security during a meeting with the EU Council Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST). This meeting, held on October 1, included representatives from over 20 European countries.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev shared details of the meeting on his X account, underscoring the strategic importance of the EU-Azerbaijan partnership. He noted that this relationship is based on mutual respect, equality, and shared benefit, with an intensification of political dialogue and practical cooperation.
Hajiyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s strategic role in regional connectivity, notably through the Middle Corridor, as a key aspect of EU-Azerbaijan relations. The partnership is also expanding into areas such as clean energy, digital transformation, innovation, and investments.
Additionally, Hajiyev mentioned that the security dialogue with the EU has been broadened into a Political and Security Dialogue. Efforts are underway toward establishing a new comprehensive bilateral agreement and renewed Partnership Priorities, aiming to convert shared interests into tangible outcomes.
