Baku:Azerbaijan’s involvement in the North-South and East-West (Middle Corridor) international transport corridors was a central topic at a recent meeting.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the first meeting of the International Transport Forum (ITF) Working Group on Freight Transport Efficiency and Digitalization took place in a hybrid format. Representatives from various Azerbaijani organizations, including the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Secretariat of the Coordinating Council on Transit Freight, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, were in attendance.
The discussions highlighted the institutional mechanisms being implemented to enhance Azerbaijan’s transit potential. The participants were informed about the efforts of the Coordinating Council, focusing on the steady growth of transit freight traffic and the expansion of container transportation.
Further, the meeting addressed the objectives of the North-South and East-West (Middle Corridor) international transport corridors and underscored Azerbaijan’s significant role in their development.
