Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Attends CIS Coordination Council Meeting in Russia


Kazan:An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev participated in the 36th meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of CIS member states in Kazan on September 30.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting aimed to enhance cooperation among prosecution authorities across the CIS, focusing on combating crime and maintaining law and order, alongside discussing international legal cooperation.



During the event, Prosecutor General Aliyev discussed challenges related to recovering assets obtained through criminal activities from foreign jurisdictions. He emphasized the need for expanding international cooperation and improving practical mechanisms in this area.



Aliyev also met with his Russian counterpart, Alexander Gutsan, highlighting the importance of the relationship between Azerbaijan and Russia, which is based on friendship, mutual understanding, and trust. He noted the significant role of the close ties between President Ilham Aliyev and President Vladimir Putin in strengthening bilateral relations, and praised the productive collaboration between the prosecutorial bodies of both countries.



The meeting concluded with the signing of a Cooperation Program for 2027-2028 between the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.



Additionally, Kamran Aliyev met with Livong Laoly, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Laos. They discussed prospects for legal cooperation, following a Memorandum on Cooperation signed between the prosecution authorities of the two countries last year, among other mutual interests.
