Bishkek:Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, addressed the 15th Plenary Session of TURKPA, emphasizing its effectiveness as a platform for dialogue and international cooperation.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Gafarova highlighted TURKPA’s role in expanding cooperation among member parliaments, particularly through the Women Parliamentarians Group and the Young Parliamentarians Group. She also relayed President Ilham Aliyev’s call for the organization to focus on youth policy, following his discussions at a recent security council meeting in Baku.
The Speaker referenced the Final Declaration from the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which underscored the importance of collaboration in artificial intelligence. She pointed to the recent inauguration of the Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic Cable Line, part of the Digital Silk Road initiative, as a positive step in this direction.
Gafarova expressed her support for Marlen Mamataliyev, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, during Kyrgyzstan’s TURKPA chairmanship, expressing confidence that the outcomes of the session would bolster cooperation.
