Baku:Azerbaijan University has entered into an academic partnership with Pakistan’s Northern University through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the agreement was formalized during a meeting between Saadat Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan University, and Taha Jamil Sawar, a member of the Board of Governors of Northern University. They explored potential areas for cooperation and discussed the development of academic, scientific, and institutional ties between their universities.
During the meeting, Aliyeva provided an overview of Azerbaijan University’s activities, its rankings, and accredited programs. Sawar shared insights into Pakistan’s higher education system, highlighting fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and medicine as areas of interest. He emphasized the mutual benefits of collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting was also attended by Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs at Azerbaijan University; Nushaba Guliyeva, Rector’s Advisor and Director of the International Center for Master’s and Doctoral Studies; and Elmira Ismayilova, Head of the International Relations Department.
The MoU, signed by Aliyeva and Sawar, outlines plans for academic exchanges, increased academic mobility, joint projects, events, and scientific research collaboration.
