Baku: The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision on “Determining the state need that requires the acquisition of land and the identification of the authority acquiring the land,” APA reports. The decision aims at expanding the “Girmizi Korpu” and “Samur” state border exit points to optimize border crossing processes, ensure rapid passage, and organize border and customs control efficiently, considering national and economic security. This expansion involves acquiring 0.49 hectares of state-owned land and 5.53 hectares of land owned by the Shikhli Municipality in the Qazakh district, and 8.27 hectares of state-owned land along with 2.752 hectares owned by the Samur Municipality in the Qusar district. In total, 8.76 hectares of state-owned land and 8.282 hectares of municipally owned land will be acquired.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Customs Committee has been designated as the authority to acquire these lands for state needs. The Committee is responsible for taking preparatory measures in line with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Acquisition of Land for State Needs and must submit its proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers.
