Azerbaijan to Observe Five Consecutive Non-Working Days in May Due to Holidays

Baku: Azerbaijan will experience a five-day break from work in May due to overlapping public holidays.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Cabinet of Ministers has determined that Eid al-Adha will be observed on May 27 and 28 this year. Independence Day, which also falls on May 28, is regarded as a non-working day.

The Labor Code stipulates that when a holiday like Eid al-Adha coincides with another public holiday, the next working day becomes a day off. Consequently, since Eid al-Adha coincides with Independence Day, May 29 will also be a non-working day.

Additionally, May 30 and 31 fall on a Saturday and Sunday, respectively, further extending the break. As a result, Azerbaijan will have no working days on May 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 consecutively.
